Kolding

Kolding – a castle and space for kids to run around

The medieval castle, Koldinghus, is just one part of the attractions of Kolding, even if it’s a big part. While some parts of the castle are still used for governmental ceremonial events, other parts are open to the public, including newly restored castle wings. At the other end of the time scale, you can also visit the museum of modern art called Trapholt, featuring applied art and furniture design. Thanks to the Kolding Miniby society, a miniature version of this East Jutland town is being built (with about 100 buildings completed) so that you can see what it looked like in 1860 – 1870.

Outside, the Geographical Gardens (Geografisk Have) have flowers and plants from countries around the world, and open spaces with grass for children to let off steam. And as more fun for the whole family, there is the SlotssøBadet waterworld. Besides the different pools including a competition pool, a warm water pool, and a baby pool, it also has a fitness centre, a solarium and café.
